Job Description

Case Manager/Clinical Supervisor Position Summary Applebury Behavior Associates is seeking an experienced Case Manager (Clinical Supervisor) to provide clinical and operational oversight for residents in our residential program. This position supervises Lead Advanced Behavior Technicians (ABTs) and Behavior Technicians (BTs), develops required clinical plans, monitors treatment implementation, and ensures compliance with EEC, MAP, and agency standards. The Case Manager serves as the designated Case Manager within the contractual 4:1 staffing ratio of three Behavior Technicians and one Case Manager. The Case Manager may only be counted in the required ratio when physically present and actively assigned to resident supervision. This position is separate from the Program Director and licensee oversight functions in accordance with 606 CMR 3.07(2). A. Key Responsibilities Provide clinical oversight and case coordination for assigned residents. Maintain a minimum amount of required billable hours per week while fulfilling all clinical, supervisory, and administrative responsibilities. Perform and understand all duties assigned to Behavior Technicians and Advanced Behavior Technicians. Develop and maintain treatment plans, behavior support plans, safety plans, daily schedules, program instructions, data-collection systems, and other required clinical documentation in coordination with the Director of Clinical Services. Maintain accurate and current electronic resident records. Ensure treatment plans and clinical protocols are implemented consistently across all shifts. Monitor resident progress, routines, schedules, appointments, and compliance with established plans. Coordinate care with clinicians, medical providers, therapists, community partners, and internal leadership. Accompany residents to medical, counseling, legal, and other required appointments, including hospitalization when necessary. Follow all Applebury policies related to clinical services, residential care, and treatment. B. Staff Supervision and Development Directly supervise assigned Lead ABTs and BTs in coordination with the Director of Clinical Services. Provide ongoing training, coaching, modeling, performance feedback, and corrective action when needed. Ensure direct-care staff understand and properly implement behavior support plans, safety plans, reinforcement systems, and treatment protocols. Support the onboarding and training of new employees. Coordinate staffing needs with the Staffing Manager. Perform direct-care duties as scheduled to maintain the required staffing ratio. Remain actively engaged in resident supervision while counted in ratio and refrain from administrative duties that interfere with direct supervision. C. Resident Supervision Requirements Complete at least two unannounced, in-person resident check-ins per shift at the assigned location. Participate in team check-ins through the designated group chat three times per shift. Monitor team communications and respond promptly to questions, concerns, and emerging needs. Arrange qualified coverage through the Case Management communication system when required check-ins cannot be completed. Respond to urgent program needs during scheduled shifts. Participate in after-hours or on-call crisis coverage when assigned under the program's written 24-hour staffing plan. D. Crisis Management and Safety Provide immediate leadership during behavioral crises and emergencies. Ensure Safety-Care procedures are implemented in accordance with agency policy and 606 CMR 3.07 restraint safeguards. Ensure incident reports and related documentation are completed accurately and on time. Review incident reports, ABC data, and safety documentation. Recommend treatment modifications when necessary in coordination with the Director of Clinical Services. E. Compliance and Quality Assurance Ensure compliance with EEC, MAP, agency policies, and program procedures. Review daily documentation for accuracy, completeness, resident safety, and regulatory compliance. Ensure BT and ABT services follow prescribed treatment protocols and accepted professional standards. Maintain awareness of each resident's approved contacts and verify that required communication consents remain current. Communicate professionally with approved family members, providers, community partners, and internal leadership. F. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, human services, education, nursing, or a related field in which applied behavior analysis is consistent with accepted professional standards. Master's degree in psychology, social work, applied behavior analysis, human services, or a related field preferred. Two to three years of experience working with youth in residential, ABA, behavioral health, or human-services settings. Strong clinical documentation, leadership, communication, organization, and crisis-management skills. Candidates must also hold one of the following in good standing: A Massachusetts license or registration in a relevant discipline in which applied behavior analysis is within the profession's accepted standards; An active, applicable out-of-state professional license or registration; or A relevant national certification, such as BCBA certification. G. Additional Requirements Valid driver's license and ability to meet Applebury's driver and vehicle-insurance requirements. Ability to complete all required orientation and annual training. Current CPR and First Aid certification that meets American Red Cross standards, or the ability to obtain it. Ability to obtain and maintain all professional licenses, registrations, and certifications required for the position. H. Benefits
