Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) - Hybrid Clinical Case Manager /
Personal Advocate Organization and Department Description:
The Association for Autism and Neurodiversity (AANE) is a non-profit human service organization that helps autistic adults or other individuals with neurodiverse profiles build meaningful, connected lives. We provide individuals, families, and professionals with information, education, community, support, and advocacy - all in an inclusive atmosphere of validation and respect. The LifeNet department aims to empower neurodiverse adults (often autistic individuals without intellectual disability) to pursue the lives they want. Our department's offerings were started to help fill a gap in adult services for this population.Location:
Hybrid (Remote with local access to office in Watertown, MA + periodic travel within ~1 hour radius) Reimagine Your OT Practice Looking to use your OT skills beyond a traditional clinic? This hybrid role blends functional assessment, creative problem-solving, and relationship-based support to help neurodiverse adults live more independently. You'll work one-on-one with a consistent caseload, supporting clients across home, work, and community settings - offering real-world supports that truly fit their lives. Why This Role Stands Out Apply OT in natural environments , not just clinical settings Build long-term relationships with a caseload (~15 adults), don't face time-limited pressures of quick discharges or large caseloads Design support that balances a focus on both improvement and maintenance of what's important to a client Don't just refer clients to community resources and benefits , but learn about them and assist with access for meaningful participation Use creativity and flexibility daily - no two days are the same Hybrid schedule: remote + in-person community work Lead care internally with colleagues and collaborate across a client's full support network Join a supportive team and well-respected organization Key Responsibilities Build rapport and provide ongoing 1:1 support through virtual and in-person client visits Conduct strengths-based assessments and develop individualized support plans Create practical solutions for daily living (related to executive functioning, routines, home organization, community participation, etc.) Coordinate care and lead collaboration with families, providers, and support staff Supervise Support Partners and guide community-based interventions Advocate for resources, services, and accommodations Monitor client well-being, assess engagement with supports, and adjust plans as needed Maintain documentation and participate in team meetings Participate in on-call rotation for additional stipend Qualifications Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) (Master's degree required) Experience or strong interest in working with neurodiverse/autistic adults Strong problem-solving and functional assessment skills Excellent communication, organization, and time management Comfort working independently and as part of a team Ability to travel locally and work in a hybrid environment Access to reliable car, active drivers license Comply with onboarding CORI, DPPC, and fingerprinting requirements Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary (based on experience) Generous paid time off and paid holiday closures Health and dental insurance, FSA/DCA (eligible employees) Mileage reimbursement IRA match after 1 year PSLF eligibility Weekly supervision + professional development Robust orientation and onboarding Make an Impact If you're an OT who enjoys thinking outside the box, building meaningful relationships, and rolling up your sleeves to help people navigate real-life challenges , this role offers a unique and rewarding path.Pay:
