In this energetic and fast-paced position, you will work closely with ophthalmologists to accurately capture clinical encounters, ensuring seamless communication and efficient workflow within the ophthalmology practice. Your expertise in medical terminology, electronic health records (EHR) management, and patient interaction will contribute to delivering exceptional eye care services. This paid role offers a unique opportunity to develop specialized skills in ophthalmology while supporting a compassionate healthcare environment. Duties Transcribe detailed clinical notes during patient examinations, ensuring accuracy and completeness in real-time documentation Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), updating patient information, medical histories, and treatment plans efficiently Assist ophthalmologists by capturing precise descriptions of procedures, diagnoses, and patient responses during consultations Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to protect patient privacy at all times Support medical office operations by organizing and filing medical records, ensuring compliance with record-keeping standards Facilitate effective communication between patients and providers through accurate documentation of medical terminology and physiology details Contribute to achieving HIPAA compliance by following established protocols for secure handling of sensitive information Requirements Proven experience in medical office settings or as a medical transcriptionist, preferably within ophthalmology or other specialized fields Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical documentation standards Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR management tools Excellent typing skills with high accuracy and speed to support real-time transcription needs Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality policies in healthcare environments Exceptional writing skills with attention to detail for precise medical documentation Prior experience in emergency room settings or fast-paced clinics is a plus but not required This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to grow their expertise in ophthalmology while making a meaningful difference in patient care.
