Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and organized Front Desk OM/TX Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing front desk operations. You will coordinate administrative tasks, facilitate patient check-ins, and support clinical staff with essential documentation and billing processes. Your expertise in medical administrative support, EMR systems, and health information management will be instrumental in maintaining smooth clinic workflows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality patient care through exceptional customer service and meticulous administrative oversight. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service while managing check-in and check-out procedures Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Verify patient insurance coverage and assist with health insurance inquiries, including Medicare and Medicaid processes Review medical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with clinical confidentiality policies Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR), ensuring proper filing, documentation review, and data entry accuracy Handle phone communication professionally, scheduling appointments, answering inquiries, and directing calls appropriately Support medical billing processes by coding procedures using CPT codes, ICD-9/10 diagnoses, and ensuring proper documentation for reimbursement Assist clinical staff with care plan documentation, medical records management, and other clerical duties such as filing and data entry Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information during all administrative activities Utilize Microsoft Office tools to prepare reports, correspondence, and other administrative documents Skills Extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures including CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and Medicare requirements Proficiency in medical terminology, health insurance policies, and clinical confidentiality policies Excellent customer service skills with phone etiquette and professional communication abilities Bilingual capabilities are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively Clinic experience or medical office management background highly desirable Familiarity with healthcare software applications and computer skills necessary for efficient workflow management Ability to review medical documentation accurately while adhering to HIPAA standards Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, documentation review, and data entry tasks Experience working in dental clinics or similar healthcare environments is a plus Join our team to make a meaningful impact on patient experiences through energetic support and precise administrative excellence.
