Responsibilities Manage patient appointments, scheduling, and front desk operations with professionalism and efficiency. Assist with medical billing, coding (including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
), and insurance claims processing using systems like Dentrix. Review and verify medical documentation for accuracy and completeness in accordance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies. Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring accurate data entry and organization of medical records. Support clinical staff by preparing care plans, reviewing documentation, and managing medical records requests. Handle phone communication with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette. Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), faxing, scanning documents, and managing office supplies. Ensure compliance with health information management standards and assist in maintaining a secure environment for sensitive patient information. Skills Extensive experience with medical office management including front desk duties, scheduling, and patient service. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), Medicare policies, and health insurance processes. Familiarity with clinical confidentiality policies under HIPAA guidelines. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation review and administrative support. Bilingual abilities are highly valued to assist diverse patient populations effectively. Prior clinic or hospital experience with medical terminology understanding is preferred. Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, documentation review, and data entry tasks. Ability to communicate clearly via phone or in person while maintaining professional decorum in high-pressure situations.
