Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Specialist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the frontline representative of our medical practice, ensuring smooth daily operations through exceptional administrative support, accurate medical documentation, and effective patient communication. Your expertise will help facilitate efficient clinic workflows, uphold confidentiality standards, and enhance patient experiences. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality healthcare delivery while utilizing your comprehensive knowledge of medical billing, coding, and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Responsibilities Manage patient intake processes, including scheduling appointments and verifying insurance coverage using systems like Availity, Navinet and Payor Websites. Review and update medical records accurately within EMR sytrm, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Perform medical billing and coding tasks utilizing CPT codes, ICD-9/10 coding standards, and Medicare guidelines to process claims efficiently. Handle patient inquiries with professionalism, practicing excellent phone etiquette and providing exceptional customer service. Conduct documentation review for accuracy and completeness in clinical records, care plans, and billing information. Assist with front desk duties including filing, managing electronic health records (EHR), and maintaining organized medical records. Support clinical staff by coordinating appointments, managing clinic schedules, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers. Skills Experience with medical office management including scheduling, billing, coding (ICD-9/10, CPT), and documentation review. Knowledge of EMR/EHR Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare billing and health information management. Excellent computer skills for administrative tasks. Prior clinic office experience is preferred to understand clinical workflows thoroughly. Demonstrated ability to maintain clinical confidentiality while managing sensitive patient information. Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on phone communication and front desk support. Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding standards (ICD-9/10), CPT coding procedures, and healthcare compliance policies Is a plus. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
