An Electronic Medical Records Specialist organizes records with patient medical diagnosis and treatment information, and maintains medical record databases. Gathers and reviews data for medical records and assigns codes needed for insurance billing. Uses electronic health records software to manage records and databases.

JOB SUMMARY
: Performs registration and scheduling of outpatient appointments, medical records functions to include release of medical records information. Answers telephone inquires. Performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties to proactively identify and respond to the needs of the patients, medical office staff and physicians.
REQUIREMENTS
: Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field. 1-3 years of experience.
