Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Medical Assistant (L1MA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, medical documentation, and clinical procedures, with experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. This role offers an opportunity to provide vital support to patients with diverse needs, including those requiring memory care, hospice services, and specialized dementia care. The L1MA will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality medical assistance while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and maintaining patient dignity. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, vital signs measurement, and medical procedures such as catheter care and tube feeding. Document patient information accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Support patients with activities of daily living, including mobility assistance and medication administration. Monitor and record physiological data, ensuring adherence to safety protocols for patients with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other memory impairments. Maintain a clean and safe environment by following HIPAA guidelines and infection control standards. Assist in managing medical records, ensuring confidentiality and proper documentation of medical history and treatment plans. Collaborate with nursing staff to deliver comprehensive patient care tailored to individual needs across senior living, hospice, or community settings. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to promote understanding of care plans and procedures. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration protocols. Experience using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation purposes. Background in hospice or palliative care environments is advantageous. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical records management to ensure compliance and confidentiality.
