Job Description Overview The EMR Specialist is responsible for verifying chart completion requirements including monitoring analysis and reanalysis queues to ensure all records are completed appropriately. Additionally, monitors and follows up on error queues. The EMR Specialist is the initial contact for troubleshooting EMR documentation issues and following up with clinical directors as needed to coordinate appropriate updates and timely completion of documentation in the EMR. Must possess the EMR documentation knowledge needed to make independent decisions and/or suggests solutions on how to address chart completion needs timely. Position also requires quality control reviews, training of EMR analysts, and assisting with more technical EMR duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and formal training:
Associate's degree in Health Information Management, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience in the health information management field.
Work Experience:
Skilled position requiring two (2) years of health information management experience needed to acquire the requisite knowledge and skills needed to efficiently perform assigned job. Candidate should have excellent HIM documentation experience and knowledge to include DNV, CMS, and other regulatory organizations requirements for documentation in patient charts. Working knowledge of HIM applications, and hospital information system software, data analysis and navigating in a Windows based PC environment also required. Previous data analyst experience preferred
