In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily laboratory operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and maintain the highest quality of laboratory testing and procedures. Your leadership will drive efficiency, accuracy, and innovation within the laboratory environment, supporting groundbreaking research initiatives and clinical trials. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage a multidisciplinary team while advancing scientific discovery and patient care. Duties Supervise daily laboratory activities, including specimen collection, processing, and analysis across various disciplines such as clinical chemistry, hematology, immunoassays, and molecular diagnostics. Ensure all laboratory procedures adhere to CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) regulations and other relevant compliance standards. Manage laboratory information systems (LIS) and document management systems to accurately record data, test results, and quality control measures. Oversee staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing team with strong leadership skills. Implement and monitor quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) protocols to maintain accuracy and reliability of all tests performed. Coordinate with clinical teams on specimen collection techniques such as venipuncture and blood sampling, ensuring proper handling and processing of samples for assays like ELISA, PCR, flow cytometry, RNA extraction, DNA isolation, and other laboratory tests. Maintain medical laboratory equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure calibration for optimal performance. Lead efforts in research laboratory activities including data collection, analysis skills development, and documentation for clinical trials or research projects. Ensure compliance with safety standards including aseptic techniques and blood banking procedures while maintaining a sterile environment. Qualifications Proven experience in a medical or research laboratory setting with expertise in clinical laboratory procedures such as immunoassays, PCR, flow cytometry, hematology, and clinical chemistry. Strong knowledge of CLIA regulations, laboratory management practices, and laboratory information management systems (LIS). Demonstrated leadership skills with previous supervisory or managerial experience overseeing laboratory teams or medical staff. Proficiency in specimen collection techniques including venipuncture (blood sampling) and phlebotomy. Familiarity with laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration protocols, and quality assurance processes. Excellent understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge related to blood banking and physiology concepts. Experience working within hospital or clinical environments is highly desirable. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively through schedule management tools while ensuring compliance with all safety standards. Strong analytical skills for data collection, analysis of test results, and reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements.
