Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Specimen Processing Supervisor to lead our clinical laboratory's front-end operations. In this role, you will manage the pre-analytical phase of medical testing, ensuring that all patient biological samples (blood, fluids, tissue) are received, logged, and processed accurately and safely. You will oversee a dedicated team of specimen processors and lab assistants, driving efficiency to meet critical turnaround times for patient
Key Responsibilities Lead Daily Operations:
Supervise the high-volume intake, sorting, centrifugation, and preparation of clinical specimens. Manage the
Team:
Hire, onboard, train, schedule, and conduct competency evaluations for processing staff.
Ensure Compliance:
Maintain strict adherence to CLIA and HIPAA guidelines.
Optimize Workflows:
Monitor and improve laboratory turnaround times (TAT) to ensure physicians receive diagnostic results promptly.
Resolve Issues:
Investigate specimen discrepancies, manage mislabeled samples, and execute corrective action plans.
Maintain Safety:
Enforce biohazard safety protocols and proper personal protective equipment (PPE) usage. What We Are Looking For (Requirements)
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 + years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with at least 1 year in a leadership, supervisor, or team-lead capacity.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Key Attributes:
Excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Pay:
$27.00 - $30.00 per hour
