We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Cardio-Respiratory Services to manage and lead our Cardio-Respiratory Department, including Respiratory Therapy, the Pulmonary Function Laboratory, and Cardiac and Vascular Laboratories. The ideal candidate will ensure the delivery of high-quality, compassionate patient care while driving operational efficiency, maintaining safety standards, and leading a high-performing healthcare team. Responsibilities Department Leadership & Strategic Management Direct and coordinate all clinical and administrative activities across Respiratory Therapy, Pulmonary Function, and Non-Invasive Cardiology departments. Maintain a smooth, efficient workflow and ensure complete, accurate, and timely delivery of services. Establish department goals and act as a positive change agent to motivate and lead staff toward shared objectives. Actively participate in leadership meetings, departmental manager meetings, and hospital committees. Quality Assurance & Compliance Design, implement, and monitor comprehensive Quality Assurance (QA) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) programs for the department. Update and consistently enforce departmental policies, clinical guidelines, and standard operating procedures. Ensure compliance with all national, state, and local safety standards, regulations, and hospital policies. Oversee regular maintenance and quality assurance programs for all equipment and diagnostic tools. Financial & Resource Management Participate in developing capital equipment and operational budgets; manage department operations within approved budgetary guidelines. Procure, manage, and maintain an accurate inventory of authorized supplies and equipment. Personnel Management & Staff Development Exercise sound judgment in hiring, onboarding, orienting, and training new staff. Supervise, mentor, and evaluate personnel; conduct timely and objective performance evaluations. Provide constructive guidance and handle personnel issues, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions in a professional and compliant manner. Facilitate staff development by arranging timely participation in workshops, seminars, and hospital in-service programs. Qualifications Licensure & Certification Current and active license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) . Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRT). Education & Experience Graduate of a two-year AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program. 5+ years of critical care experience. 5+ years of clinical or teaching experience. 5+ years of healthcare management and supervisory experience. Competencies & Skills Demonstrated age-specific competencies across all patient populations: Comprehensive knowledge of financial, personnel, and technical management in a clinical setting. Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
