Lead laboratory operations in a hospital setting, supervising staff, ensuring quality, and driving process improvements. This full‑time supervisor role supports patient care by managing daily workflows, maintaining compliance, and mentoring laboratory professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise daily laboratory operations, ensuring efficient workflow and high‑quality patient testing. Schedule staff, assign responsibilities, and manage staffing needs. Perform CLS duties as needed while maintaining regulatory compliance. Conduct laboratory testing, quality control, and documentation. Monitor turnaround times and implement process improvements. Train, mentor, evaluate, and support laboratory personnel through coaching and performance appraisals. Maintain and update laboratory policies and procedures in compliance with standards. Oversee inventory management and supply ordering. Troubleshoot instrumentation, coordinate preventive maintenance, and evaluate equipment. Assist with implementation of new testing methodologies and technologies. Review abnormal results, QC data, and assist staff with complex issues. Provide recommendations for operational improvements and support safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or equivalent. Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license. Minimum five years of hospital laboratory experience in general testing, quality control, and methodologies. Minimum three years of leadership experience in a coordinator, lead, supervisor, or manager role. Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations, accreditation standards, and quality management practices. Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers (preferred). Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Improvement (QI) experience (preferred).
