JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Supervisor reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for the review, development and performing of internal quality audit procedures and preparing for SQF, Organic and Kosher certification audits. Work performed will include coverage of functional operations in plant while focusing on making certain Beneficial Blends products are produced with the utmost quality.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee Quality Technician team.
• Quality and production paperwork verification.
• Conduct verification and validation activities for all programs that support SQFI system elements.
• Provide subject matter expertise to all site teams regarding SQFI expectations.
• Develop and lead training of all site staff to ensure compliance to food safety and quality regulations.
• Oversee laboratory testing program, including troubleshooting instrumentation and ensuring accurate, repeatable results across multiple
• Maintain audit programs for SQF, Kosher, Organic, Fair Trade and other schemes
• Verify HACCP logs and other documents are accurately completed daily.
• Provide support for vendor approval as well as new product development and trials, including documentation of activities on the line.
• Review and approve labels, including incoming inspection and maintenance of Finished Goods Components records.
• Finished product sampling for lab analysis.
• Blend sampling for lab analysis.
• Perform analytical and microbiological testing of ingredients and finished products.
• Approve incoming material and ingredients
• New Product Development - equipment/product testing/validation/sampling.
• Participate in writing new product specifications

QUALIFICATIONS OR EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.

Experience:

1-2 years in a Quality Control supervisory position, preferably for a food manufacturing company.

Experience:

1+ years in Food/Pharma quality lab

Certifications/Licenses:

Certified FS Manager, SQF Practitioner

• Other Required knowledge, skills & abilities: HACCP, Food Defense, Root Cause Analysis knowledge preferred.
• Bilingual English and Spanish Working conditions
• Working environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will generally work in an office environment. Some tasks may require working in a manufacturing environment where appropriate attire and safety equipment are required.
