Job Description:
PURPOSE OF POSITION
To plan, organize and direct a wide variety of administrative, fiscal and technical activities to ensure the efficient operation of the laboratories at Cape Cod Hospital (CCH) and Falmouth Hospital (FH) as well as Cape Cod Lab services (CLAB).
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs the day-to-day operations of the Cape Cod Healthcare laboratory services through the management staff. Participates in determining department objectives, follows through to assure attainment, evaluates performance in relation to objectives while implementing best practices at both hospitals. Ensures adequate staffing model that support laboratory operations. Develops strong working relationship and communication with all leadership and departments. Is the primary interface with the pathologists for planning and implementing significant operational processes. Conceives, plans and implements strategic operational issues for the hospital laboratories while taking into account the strategic and operational goals of C-Lab. All policies and procedures will be written and implemented and always in compliance with and in accordance with the standards of CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission, DPH and other regulatory agencies. Develops laboratories' annual operating and capital equipment budgets and assures department operates within allocated funds. Maintains departmental reports and records and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes. Develops and maintains departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control programs. Develops standards of performance and completes performance evaluations as needed. Participates on hospital committees and attends meetings as required. Leads process improvement and quality initiatives as directed Maintains confidentiality of information deemed confidential. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. Perform other work related duties as assigned or requested.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
: Master's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field. Minimum of ten years progressive experience in clinical laboratory operations or three years progressive management experience in integrated clinical or reference laboratory Extensive knowledge of analytical Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Histology, POCT, Microbiology, and Blood Bank from a methods and quality control perspective Extensive knowledge of modern principles and practices of instruments and methods used in the collection and analysis in laboratory operations Extensive knowledge of policies, practices and procedures applicable to laboratory operations In-depth experience in quality assurance programs Strong project management skills; experience in LEAN/Six Sigma a plus Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate successfully with customers, executive leaders and staff Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate the work of professional and technical staff in a manner conducive to high technical standards, efficiency and performance Ability work effectively in a team environment and to engage managers and employees in a culture of growth, respect, knowledge and ownership of quality service

Full-Time, Monday-Friday, Occasional Evenings, Weekends, & Occasional Holidays Pay Range Details:
The pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education. This is not inclusive of the value of Cape Cod Healthcare's benefits package (if applicable), which includes among other benefits, healthcare/dental/vision and retirement. For annual salaries this is based on full-time employment.
