- 4:00p, on-call required SUMMARY The Point of Care Lab Manager, under the direction of the Department/Division/Administrative Director, will manage day-to-day operations including accuracy for patient results, instrumentation, quality and regulatory issues, procedures and processes as appropriate.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Scheduling of department staff appropriate to workflow patterns. Assures that the procedures/manuals and instruments used conform to good laboratory practice. Assures the validity of laboratory results. Oversee information technology needs specific to the department, including updates and staff training. Interviews, hires, plans training, supervises, disciplines, and terminates personnel in their department in conjunction with the Laboratory Administrative Director. Maintains staffing files according to regulatory requirements and reviews files annually for completeness. Complete annual performance evaluations for Department staff. Foster teamwork and a collegial atmosphere. Prepares and monitors staffing, operating, and capital budgets adhering to approved budgets, reporting variances to Administrative Director. Maintains needed stock and supplies. Confers with sales representatives obtaining best supply price wherever possible and service representatives to monitors preventative maintenance programs for lab equipment. Is responsible for and adheres to all regulatory standards and inspections for the department. Successfully completes, monitors and generates appropriate reports for QA and QC activities of all staff and department. Is responsible for department orientation, oversees staff educational needs, training, and staff competency assessment. Teaches in the Medical Laboratory Science Program and Lab rotations as called upon to do so. Coordinates with the Medical Laboratory Science Program administration and all areas of the lab to develop curriculum, lecture objectives, student evaluations, written and digital exams. Participates in classroom instructions, monitors student activities, attends and participates in faculty meetings, and participates in accreditation reviews and reports as needed. Additional duties and responsibilities as requested by Director or Senior Manager.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 4 years' experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Technologist NYS Licensed Clinical Laboratory TechnologistPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certification by American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Previous experience in a laboratory leadership positionEDUCATION

PAY RANGE
$90,000.00- $132,080.
