Responsible for planning, directing, coordination and controlling all ancillary operations and activities of the clinics Lab, Radiology and Rehabilitation departments within the scope of the policies and procedures for The Portland Clinic (TPC).DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

FUNCTIONS
) 1. Provide strategic and operational leadership for all Ancillary Services, including Laboratory, Radiology, and Rehabilitation, ensuring safe, efficient, patient-centered operations aligned with The Portland Clinic's strategic objectives.- 2. Direct, coach, and develop departmental managers through regular performance management, mentoring, succession planning, and professional development initiatives.
- 3. Establish operational goals, key performance indicators, and service standards for each ancillary department while monitoring performance and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- 4. Collaborate with physicians, executive leadership, and operational leaders to ensure ancillary services effectively support clinical operations, patient access, and organizational priorities.
- 5. Develop, implement, and maintain standardized operating procedures, workflows, and best practices across all ancillary departments to improve consistency, quality, patient safety, and operational efficiency.
- 6. Oversee departmental staffing models, scheduling, productivity, and workforce planning to ensure appropriate resource allocation while meeting patient demand and service expectations.
- 7. Lead the annual operating and capital budget development process for Ancillary Services and maintain financial accountability through ongoing monitoring of departmental financial performance, productivity, and budget variances.
- 8. Partner with the COO to identify operational efficiencies, improve resource utilization, and support organizational financial objectives.
- 9. Direct the evaluation, procurement, replacement, maintenance, and lifecycle management of ancillary equipment, supplies, and service contracts, including leased equipment.
- 10. Collaborate with Supply Chain leadership to establish inventory standards, optimize par levels, evaluate vendors, and ensure uninterrupted clinical operations.
- 11. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, accreditation, and regulatory requirements governing ancillary services, including but not limited to MQSA, ACR, CLIA, OSHA, and other applicable regulatory agencies.
- 12. Maintain responsibility for quality assurance, quality improvement, accreditation readiness, and regulatory compliance across all ancillary departments while promoting a culture of patient safety and continuous improvement.
- 13. Serve as the Radiation Safety Officer, overseeing radiation safety programs, monitoring employee and patient exposure, and maintaining regulatory compliance.
- 14. Partner with the ASC Director and clinical leadership to coordinate ancillary services supporting ambulatory surgery center operations, ensuring continuity of care and operational alignment.
- 15. Monitor departmental quality, productivity, patient satisfaction, turnaround times, utilization, and operational performance metrics, implementing corrective action plans as necessary to achieve organizational goals.
- 16. Collaborate with Information Technology, Facilities, Finance, Compliance, and Clinical Leadership on initiatives that improve operational effectiveness, patient experience, and service delivery.
- 17. Provide operational leadership during organizational initiatives, equipment implementations, workflow redesigns, facility projects, and departmental change management efforts.
- 18. Foster a collaborative, respectful, and accountable culture by promoting teamwork, open communication, professional development, and exceptional customer service throughout Ancillary Services.
