Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a highly capable, hands-on Lead Pharmacy Technician & Operations Manager to serve as the PIC's right hand in building and operating a compliant sterile compounding lab. This is a hybrid role combining pharmacy technician responsibilities, operational leadership, and team development. The PIC will be on-site approximately 3 days per week, this role will serve as the eyes and ears on the ground , ensuring continuity, execution, and accountability on non-PIC days. This is a high-ownership role for someone who can take direction and independently drive execution. Key Responsibilities On-Site Leadership & Execution Serve as the primary on-site operator when the PIC is off-site Act as the PIC's eyes and ears, ensuring all activities align with expectations and compliance standards Provide daily updates and communicate issues, risks, and progress clearly Maintain accountability across operations in the PIC's absence Lab Build & Compliance Assist in building a sterile compounding lab aligned with USP <800> , USP <797> , and all applicable regulations Prepare the facility for inspections, licensing, and ongoing compliance Maintain SOPs, logs, and documentation required for regulatory readiness Ensure proper lab organization, cleanliness, and workflow design Operations, Inventory & Procurement Manage inventory of supplies, consumables, and equipment Order materials, parts, and machinery proactively Coordinate vendors, deliveries, and equipment installation Build and maintain organized systems for inventory, tracking, and maintenance Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities Support sterile and/or non-sterile compounding operations Assist with preparation, labeling, and material handling under PIC oversight Ensure adherence to all pharmacy and safety regulations Recruiting & Team Building Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring pharmacy technicians and support staff Support onboarding and training of new hires Help establish a reliable, accountable, and compliant team culture
Qualifications Required:
Active Pharmacy Technician license (Alabama or eligible) Experience in a pharmacy or compounding environment Strong organizational and execution skills Ability to work on-site daily in Decatur, AL Experience managing inventory and ordering supplies
Preferred:
Sterile compounding and/or cleanroom experience Familiarity with USP <800> , USP <797> , and inspection readiness Experience in hiring, training, or leading staff Experience setting up or scaling lab or pharmacy operations Key Traits for Success High ownership and accountability Strong attention to detail and follow-through Able to operate independently without constant supervision Comfortable balancing hands-on technician work with operational leadership Proactive communicator who flags issues early Organized and systems-oriented thinker Compensation Competitive salary based on experience Growth opportunity into senior operations leadership Summary This role is critical to the success of the operation. You will be responsible for executing the PIC's vision on a daily basis, ensuring the lab is built, staffed, and operated to full regulatory compliance. The right candidate will function as a trusted extension of the PIC and play a key role in bringing the facility to inspection-ready status.
Pay:
$24.75 - $29.80 per hour
