As Stemilt's Quality Control Lab Supervisor , you are responsible for leading daily, seasonal, and annual lab functions during cherry, pear, and apple harvest, as well as throughout post-harvest storage. You oversee lab workflow, supervise and train seasonal personnel, and ensure consistent and accurate quality evaluations. You serve as the primary point of communication for lab observations within the QC department. You work closely with other QC team members and other departments to support department and company objectives. Additional Responsibilities Organize and coordinate daily laboratory operations during cherry, apple, and pear harvest, as well as post-harvest. Supervise, train, and retrain seasonal laboratory personnel to ensure consistent quality evaluation procedures. Develop and manage employee work schedules to meet operational needs. Evaluate fruit quality by identifying key quality attributes, defects, and grade standards for cherries, apples, and pears. Communicate fruit quality observations, trends, and concerns Ensure samples are processed accurately and consistently in accordance with company and industry standards. Monitor laboratory productivity and maintain efficient workflows during peak harvest periods. Maintain accurate records of quality evaluations, inspections, and lab results. Promote a safe, organized, and clean laboratory environment. Assist with the continuous improvement of lab and quality control processes. Coordinate pre-harvest sampling activities with field staff and internal growers.
