A Clinical Laboratory Scientist analyzes samples of body fluids, tissues, and other substances for diagnostic and research purposes within a medical laboratory or healthcare facility. Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests. Looks for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, tests for drug levels in the blood to show how a patient is responding to treatment.
$30-32/hour Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Clinical Laboratory Scientist to support clinical and medical research activities within a collaborative laboratory environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career life sciences professional looking to build hands-on experience supporting clinical research, laboratory testing, and the development of new therapies. The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of clinical laboratory experience and a strong foundation in laboratory procedures and documentation. Experience with histology and/or immunohistochemistry (IHC) is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities Perform laboratory testing and research activities in support of clinical and medical studies. Prepare, process, stain, and evaluate biological or tissue samples according to established laboratory procedures. Support histology and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows as applicable. Collect, analyze, document, and interpret laboratory and clinical research data. Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure proper documentation and sample traceability. Follow established SOPs, quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable research regulations. Assist with troubleshooting laboratory procedures, test results, and experimental issues. Collaborate with scientists, healthcare professionals, research teams, and other laboratory personnel. Support clinical research and development activities related to new drugs, therapies, and diagnostic approaches. Contribute to a team-oriented laboratory environment while independently managing assigned responsibilities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Life Sciences, Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related scientific discipline. 1+ years of experience working in a clinical, research, pathology, histology, pharmaceutical, biotech, or similar laboratory environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently follow laboratory procedures and protocols. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively while also being self-motivated and accountable for individual responsibilities. Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced laboratory environment. Preferred Qualifications Hands-on histology and/or immunohistochemistry (IHC) experience. Experience with tissue preparation, processing, sectioning, staining, microscopy, or related techniques.
