Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, where you will play a vital role in delivering accurate and timely laboratory testing that supports patient diagnosis and treatment. Duties Conduct a wide range of laboratory tests including clinical chemistry, microbiology, hematology, immunoassays, PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, and molecular diagnostics such as RNA extraction and DNA isolation. Manage and analyze large datasets using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and data analysis tools to ensure accuracy and integrity of results. Perform specimen collection, processing, and blood banking procedures with precision, including venipuncture and phlebotomy, adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Operate and maintain medical laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration, quality control, and troubleshooting are performed regularly to uphold CLIA regulations. Implement laboratory quality control protocols; monitor assay performance; document deviations; and participate in proficiency testing to maintain high standards of accuracy. Interpret diagnostic test results within the context of clinical information; communicate findings clearly to healthcare providers; support clinical trials with meticulous data recording. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments), OSHA standards, and hospital policies related to laboratory procedures and safety. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field; certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or equivalent is required. Proven experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting with knowledge of laboratory techniques such as PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, immunoassays, hematology testing, microbiology testing, and blood banking. Strong data management skills with experience using Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) or Laboratory Data Management Software. Familiarity with laboratory quality control procedures and implementing best practices for specimen collection/processing. Knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to blood sampling, vital signs monitoring, and specimen handling procedures. Excellent understanding of medical terminology and laboratory procedures; ability to interpret diagnostic tests accurately. Ability to operate complex medical equipment safely; experience with blood sampling techniques such as venipuncture is essential. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
