A Clinical Laboratory Scientist analyzes samples of body fluids, tissues, and other substances for diagnostic and research purposes within a medical laboratory or healthcare facility. Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests. Looks for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, tests for drug levels in the blood to show how a patient is responding to treatment.

Florida Medical Technologist License Position Summary:
Obtains or receives specimens, performs clinical laboratory tests by standardized procedures, understands method principles, performs quality control, performs preventive maintenance, and interprets complex tests results as to accuracy acceptability and critical limits. Works independently, organizing work to meet established turn-around time standards, record all data obtained and maintains job competence. This position also involves effective communication and interpersonal skills.Requirements:
Must have Florida Medical Technologist License (FL Medical Tech license in 6 areas); License/Certification. BS Degree. BLS (preferred).About DeSoto Memorial Hospital:
