Job Description

Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Specialists of Lake County currently has a full-time Sleep Technologist position available. Our Sleep Lab is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). The hours for this position are 8:00 pm to 6:00 am. Responsibilities of the Sleep Technologist include the following: Collect, analyze and integrate patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs and to determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician and in accordance with the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). Explain pre-testing, testing and post-testing procedures to the patient. Follow procedural protocols to ensure collection of appropriate data. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age specific are in the treatment, assessment and education adult and geriatric patients. Perform routine equipment care and maintenance. Respond to study participant's procedural-related inquires by providing appropriate information. Demonstrate the ability to analyze complex situations and apply policy. Comply with the company and professional association's Standards of Conduct. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) preferred or; Professional knowledge of Polysomnographic procedures, principles, equipment operations and maintenance as normally acquired through completion of an approved training program or; In addition: Excellent patient care and compassion Ability to organize and plan the activities of subordinates and to delegate appropriately Computer skills that include word processing and efficient use of the internet and e-mail Demonstrate effective written and spoken communication skills Able to make informed clinical decisions Remain calm in stressful situations Ability to learn and follow clinical protocols Demonstrate appropriate social skills
