Category Laboratory - Medical Technologist Job Type Contract Advance your career as a well-rounded, experienced Medical Technologist in a dynamic, patient-focused laboratory setting. This full-time, contract role offers the chance to contribute to high-quality medical diagnostics as a generalist, with an emphasis on flexibility, weekend coverage, and the ability to make a measurable difference. The position runs for an initial 8-week period with a strong possibility of extension for those who excel.
Schedule:
Full-time day shift (7:00 am - 7:00 pm) Primarily weekend shifts
Qualifications & Requirements:
Must have current ASCP certification (AMT or AAB certifications also accepted) Active State of Florida laboratory license required Must hold an earned college diploma or provide transcripts Demonstrated experience as a generalist; a broad background across core laboratory departments is essential Must not reside in Broward, Dade, or Palm Beach Counties Only Medical Technologist (MT) credentials accepted—Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) will not be considered
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic testing across hematology, chemistry, immunology, urinalysis, and microbiology, ensuring accuracy and reliability Maintain all quality control, regulatory, and safety standards consistently during weekend, day shift coverage Support physicians and interdisciplinary team members with timely, actionable test results Troubleshoot and resolve instrument issues, document procedures and outcomes per established protocols Collaborate in ongoing process improvement for laboratory operations
