What they do
A Clinical Laboratory Scientist analyzes samples of body fluids, tissues, and other substances for diagnostic and research purposes within a medical laboratory or healthcare facility. Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests. Looks for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, tests for drug levels in the blood to show how a patient is responding to treatment.

Job Description
- Perform routine laboratory testing in areas such as chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and coagulation.
- Conduct CLIA-waived and moderately complex testing in accordance with established protocols.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and point-of-care testing equipment.
- Perform quality control procedures and document results and corrective actions.
- Ensure proper specimen collection, handling, processing, and identification.
- Review, verify, and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain compliance with
CLIA, CAP
(if applicable), OSHA, and other regulatory standards.- Support point-of-care testing (POCT) programs and maintain competency documentation.
- Maintain laboratory records and assist with audits and inspections as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to support patient care and workflow efficiency.
- Participate in competency assessments, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications
- Associate s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Bachelor s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field required.
- ASCP certification (MT/MLS or MLT) preferred or eligible.
- Florida state licensure required or eligible.
- Prior experience in outpatient, physician office, or clinical laboratory setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and patient safety focus. Skills & Competencies
- Ability to work independently in a physician office laboratory environment.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and quality control standards.
- Proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS) and point-of-care testing platforms preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a high-volume outpatient setting. Schedule & Compensation

- $28 $40 per hour, based on experience
