A Clinical Laboratory Scientist analyzes samples of body fluids, tissues, and other substances for diagnostic and research purposes within a medical laboratory or healthcare facility. Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests. Looks for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, tests for drug levels in the blood to show how a patient is responding to treatment.

Responsibilities The Lead Medical Technologist must be knowledgeable in the operation of every laboratory section, perform the duties of a Medical Technologist III and assist the supervisor and take charge in the absence of the supervisor in monitoring shift operation in all sections of the laboratory. Qualifications
REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution, and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination. Acceptable certifying agencies include
ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS
(HEW) OR Associate's degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist. Acceptable certifying agencies include
ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS
(HEW) OR Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist. 1.Acceptable certifying agencies include
ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS
(HEW) Three (3) years' experience in a clinical laboratory Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations. Must submit to a Color-Acuity screening Test
PREFERRED
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
