A Clinical Laboratory Scientist analyzes samples of body fluids, tissues, and other substances for diagnostic and research purposes within a medical laboratory or healthcare facility. Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests. Looks for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, tests for drug levels in the blood to show how a patient is responding to treatment.

The Point of Care Testing Specialist is responsible for and provides oversight for all point of care testing and waived testing performed by Northside personnel outside of the Laboratory Departments. Have state recognized certification as a Medical Technologist.
Acceptable certifying agencies include:
ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS
(HEW). Have at least one year of clinical laboratory experience. All applicants must submit to and pass a Color-Acuity screening Test. Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
