SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for performing moderate and high complexity laboratory testing in a manner that ensures accurate test results and the highest quality blood products for our customers.
HOURS:
Saturday - Tuesday 7 AM - 5:30 PM (some shift flexibility during the week may be possible) Some on-call responsibilities required $2 weekend shift differential available for hours work Saturday and Sunday
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform immunohematology test procedures according to established policy and SOP Perform review and reporting of patient testing reports Perform and document quality control, calibration, and maintenance tasks Identify, troubleshoot, and document problems that may influence the accuracy, completion or releasing of test results Assist with writing, review and evaluation of SOPs as assigned Assist with validation of new equipment and test methodologies as assigned Assist with teaching and training of students and staff members as assigned Maintains confidentiality of LifeServe Blood Center donor, employee, financial and proprietary records, and information at all times.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT), Medical Technology (MT), or Medical Laboratory Specialist (MLS) certification required . Bachelor's degree in medical technology; or a chemical, physical, or biological science preferred OR Associate's degree in laboratory science; or medical laboratory technology (or equivalent) required Must meet current CLIA and AABB requirements for testing personnel.
