A Clinical Laboratory Scientist analyzes samples of body fluids, tissues, and other substances for diagnostic and research purposes within a medical laboratory or healthcare facility. Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests. Looks for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, tests for drug levels in the blood to show how a patient is responding to treatment.

As a resource for the global biomedical community, the NIRC provides the infrastructure and expertise required for innovative basic and applied research. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist plays a critical role in supporting these efforts by processing, analyzing, and reporting diagnostic samples to ensure research integrity and compliance with applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic testing in disciplines such as hematology, coagulation, chemistry, microbiology, flow cytometry, parasitology, and urinalysis. Process, analyze, and report diagnostic samples in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and applicable research regulations. Conduct calibration, preventative maintenance, and quality control for laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results. Manage and oversee the shipping of diagnostic samples, adhering to all regulatory and safety standards. Maintain accurate records of laboratory analyses and quality control activities. Perform analytical testing and processing in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and applicable regulations Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Auditor and other team members to uphold the highest standards of research integrity. Participate in laboratory audits, inspections, and reviews as required. Contribute to the development and implementation of new diagnostic methods and protocols. Train and mentor laboratory staff and provide guidance on best practices.
