A Clinical Laboratory Scientist analyzes samples of body fluids, tissues, and other substances for diagnostic and research purposes within a medical laboratory or healthcare facility. Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests. Looks for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, tests for drug levels in the blood to show how a patient is responding to treatment.

Contributes to the Hospital's mission by performing various clinical laboratory tests as requested in physician orders. This clinical professional position impacts patient care by performing accurate tests as prescribed by the physician in a timely manner so clinicians receive accurate result expediently enabling them to provide the best possible care.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Required:

Associates degree in a science field

Preferred:

Associates degree in Laboratory Science from an accredited program

Grandfathered Qualifications:

HEW or military certification acquired prior to 1980

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:

Medical Technician registry eligible

Preferred:

Medical Technician registered (ASCP or applicable)

Pay Range:

$36.00 - $48.45The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
