A Clinical Laboratory Scientist analyzes samples of body fluids, tissues, and other substances for diagnostic and research purposes within a medical laboratory or healthcare facility. Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests. Looks for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, tests for drug levels in the blood to show how a patient is responding to treatment.

Job Description

Ghost RX is currently searching for Medical Laboratory Technologists to work at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center located in Augusta, ME. Requirements Degree
  • Bachelor's degree Education
  • Graduate from a medical technology program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS). Certification
  • Current certification/registration as determined by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
Experience:
Minimum one-year experience within the past 5 years. Travel rates : $2,600/ week for candidates 50 miles or farther from the facility
Shift:
4x 10hr shift
  • 8:30pm-6:30am
Job Duties:
Performs a full range of automated and non-automated laboratory procedures in the areas of chemistry, urinalysis, hematology, serology, bacteriology, and immunohematology according to established protocols. iii. Evaluates the suitability of the specimen for analysis, requesting new specimen if determined to unusable. Prepares specimens for analysis; ensuring that the physiologic states of the specimen properties are maintained.
