Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician to join our laboratory team. This role is vital in performing accurate and timely laboratory testing to support clinical diagnoses, research, and patient care. The successful candidate will operate sophisticated medical laboratory equipment, conduct a variety of assays, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments). This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a strong background in laboratory procedures, clinical chemistry, microbiology, hematology, and molecular techniques to contribute to advancing healthcare outcomes through precise laboratory work. Responsibilities Perform a wide range of laboratory tests including clinical chemistry, microbiology, hematology, immunoassays, and molecular diagnostics such as PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay), RNA extraction, DNA isolation, flow cytometry, and blood banking procedures. Manage specimen collection, processing, and analysis with strict adherence to aseptic techniques and proper specimen handling protocols. Operate and maintain medical laboratory equipment including centrifuges, analyzers, microscopes, and blood sampling devices; troubleshoot issues as needed. Implement laboratory quality control protocols to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results; document findings meticulously. Interpret diagnostic test results accurately and communicate findings clearly to healthcare providers or research teams. Maintain comprehensive laboratory records using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIS) or Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Comply with CLIA regulations and hospital policies while participating in laboratory audits and accreditation processes. Assist in research activities or clinical trials by performing specialized assays and data analysis related to physiology or anatomy studies. Support laboratory management tasks such as inventory control of reagents and supplies, calibration schedules, and safety compliance.
