Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will perform a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures to support accurate diagnosis, treatment, and patient care. Your expertise in laboratory techniques, specimen processing, and data management will ensure the delivery of reliable results that meet stringent quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of clinical chemistry, microbiology, hematology, immunoassays, and laboratory management protocols, contributing to the advancement of our clinical research and diagnostic services.
Responsibilities:
Conduct a variety of laboratory tests including clinical chemistry, microbiology, hematology, immunoassays, PCR, flow cytometry, ELISA, RNA extraction, DNA isolation, and other diagnostic assays with precision and adherence to protocols. Manage laboratory data efficiently using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIS) and ensure accurate documentation of test results. Perform specimen collection and processing procedures such as venipuncture and blood sampling while maintaining strict aseptic techniques. Operate and maintain medical laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration, quality control, and compliance with CLIA regulations. Implement laboratory quality control protocols to uphold accuracy and reliability of test outcomes; troubleshoot technical issues proactively. Assist in the development and validation of new assays for clinical trials or research purposes. Interpret diagnostic test results accurately for clinical relevance; collaborate with healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient assessment. Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements including blood banking procedures. Support laboratory management by overseeing inventory levels of reagents and supplies; ensure proper specimen storage. Contribute to research laboratory activities by performing specialized tests such as molecular diagnostics or cytotechnology procedures. Participate in ongoing training to stay current on advances in laboratory techniques and medical terminology.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field; certification as a Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist is preferred. Proven experience in a clinical or hospital laboratory setting with proficiency in laboratory procedures across multiple disciplines including hematology, microbiology, immunoassays, and molecular testing. Strong knowledge of CLIA regulations and laboratory quality control standards. Hands-on experience with medical laboratory equipment operation such as centrifuges, analyzers, microscopes, flow cytometers, PCR machines, and blood bank instruments. Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIS) and Laboratory Procedures documentation. Excellent data analysis skills coupled with attention to detail for accurate result interpretation. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to specimen collection and test procedures. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety. Effective communication skills for collaboration within multidisciplinary teams; understanding of medical terminology is essential.
