Urinalysis, Chemistry, Microbiology and PCR Testing Personnel and other lab duties as necessary Physician Office Lab
  • Employment Type Part time: 20-30 hours per week Flexible Schedule We are dedicated to delivering accurate and timely laboratory services to our patients.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced scientist for our Urinalysis, Chemistry, Microbiology, and PCR Lab. Testing personnel will be required to train in all parts of the lab, especially Microbiology and PCR. This role requires a strong background in molecular diagnostics, particularly with Biomerioux Vitek and Thermo Fisher QuantStudio. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Microbiology, PCR validations and CLIS state licensure requirements is required. Key PCR Responsibilities (Other testing responsibilities are listed below):
  • Perform PCR testing and related laboratory procedures independently in a physician office lab setting.
  • Utilize Thermo Fisher QuantStudio and Kingfisher products for sample preparation, PCR amplification, and data analysis.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Monitor quality control measures, validate test results, and troubleshoot any discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of laboratory activities, test results, and quality assurance processes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure timely reporting of results and address any inquiries.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Molecular Biology, Medical Technology, or related discipline).
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with Thermo Fisher QuantStudio and Kingfisher products.
  • Previous experience with working in a NJ PCR Lab and understand the needs of CLIA and CLIS in NJ
  • Strong understanding of PCR methodologies, laboratory best practices, and quality control procedures.
Urinalysis, Chemistry, and Other responsibilities as needed: All laboratory personnel must be responsible for following laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, analysis, result reporting, and maintaining records with adherence to all Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations, unless otherwise noted. Additional responsibilities may be required as part of this position. This overview is not comprehensive of all duties and responsibilities, but provides a general framework for the tasks performed within this role.
