Category Laboratory - Medical Technologist Job Type Contract Seeking a skilled professional with expertise as a Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician to contribute as a generalist within a dynamic laboratory environment. This contract opportunity is ideal for individuals experienced in comprehensive laboratory testing who are committed to accuracy, efficiency, and high standards of patient care.
Qualifications:
Valid New York State license required Certified as either a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Lab Technician (MLT) Hands-on experience functioning as a generalist across core laboratory disciplines (e.g., hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, immunology, blood bank) Proven ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab analyzers and equipment Strong attention to detail and adherence to laboratory protocols Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities:
Perform and report routine and complex laboratory tests accurately and efficiently Adhere strictly to quality assurance and control procedures Interpret and analyze test results, recognizing deviations and potential issues Ensure accurate entry of patient information and results into laboratory information systems Maintain up-to-date documentation and logs for quality and compliance Communicate and collaborate with clinical staff to deliver timely, reliable laboratory data Participate in ongoing proficiency testing and competency assessments
