Job Summary:

Performs testing, calibration, and quality control for all laboratory tests approved by the Director of Lab according to department policy and procedures. Follows proper procedure for obtaining patient specimens. Identifies and follows through on problems that may adversely effect patient test results.

Minimum Qualifications:

For Medical Lab Technician:

Associate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, current certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the ASCP or other nationally recognized accrediting organization, or within one year of hire for new graduates.

For Medical Technologist:

Bachelor of Science degree in Laboratory Science or related coursework, current certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (or equivalent) by the ASCP or other nationally recognized accrediting organization, or certified within one year if a new graduate.
