Category Laboratory - Medical Technologist Job Type Contract Seeking a dedicated professional with expertise as a Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician to support laboratory operations in a healthcare environment. This contract opportunity is ideal for individuals comfortable working collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced setting, delivering accurate and timely results to support patient care.
Key Qualifications:
Current certification as a Medical Technologist (MT/MLS) or Medical Lab Technician (MLT) Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field Proficient in performing, analyzing, and interpreting laboratory tests, including hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and microbiology Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic medical records Knowledge of quality assurance, safety protocols, and regulatory standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP, OSHA) Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests to aid in diagnosis and treatment decisions Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration and quality control procedures are completed Collect, process, and analyze biological specimens in accordance with established protocols Document and report results promptly and accurately using laboratory information systems Maintain rigorous safety and infection control practices at all times Participate in continuing education, training, and process improvement initiatives as required This contract position offers the chance to apply your laboratory expertise in a rewarding clinical environment, supporting high standards of patient care.
