• 1. Performs required procedures in the department sections according to protocol.
• 2. Makes proper decisions utilizing job knowledge . Works in an independent manner.
• 3. Demonstrates profic i ency in the designated sections through Proficiency, Patient, and Quality Control testing.
• 4. Prioritizes work to ensure completions within the assigned shift and within expected intervals, i.e., Stat, Routine, and Urgent .
• 5. Assists the leadership in the completion of miscellaneous duties.
• 6. Shares daily workload within the department including phlebotomy and processing.
• 7. Maintains good communication with coordinators , co-workers and customers . Respects patient confidentiality . Demonstrates an awareness of patient/client expectations and always seeks to satisfy.
• 8. Demonstrates proficiency in all laboratory computer related tasks.
• 9. Performs and documents instrument maintenance . Performs quality control according to established procedures . Troubleshoots instruments effectively when appropriate .
• 10. Understands and participates in laboratory QA /QC plan, safety policies, emergency preparedness plan and infection control plan.
• 11. Understands/respects laboratory billing compliance plan. Adheres to guidelines set forth in Lab Billing Compliance Plan. Participates in An nual Billing Compliance and Code of Conduct/ Ethics courses .
• 12.

Initiates and documents patient teaching, including family and /or significant others.

EXPERIENCE

Required

• Graduate of accredited school of Clinical Laboratory Science . Preferred
• 1-2 years experience as Medical Laboratory Technician

EDUCATION
