Perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests. Looks for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms, tests for drug levels in the blood to show how a patient is responding to treatment.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Clinical Laboratory Outreach Specialist is responsible for account management and new business development. They act as a representative of the organization and serve as the liaison between the organization's laboratory and regional hospitals, community providers, organizational providers, network development outreach staff, compliance, billing, and registration. The Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining outreach accounts for the laboratory and for establishing and promoting good working relationships with existing accounts by providing superior problem solving and customer service. Emphasis on patient care is paramount. This position will maintain regular visit schedules with outreach providers, practices, and hospitals. In accordance with the strategic initiatives put forth by Laboratory Leadership this position will evaluate and expand laboratory outreach opportunities in the region along new geographic and service lines as appropriate. They will work to ensure proper processing, reporting and billing of client tests, and delivery of services for internal and external clients, while keeping abreast of market trends in Laboratory Outreach.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required. Field of study related to health care, biomedical sciences; or business degree with healthcare background considered. Medical technologist certification strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum five years' experience in health care setting, some experience in the area of pathology and/or laboratory medicine must be included.
Licensure/Certification:
Valid state issued driver's license in good standing is essential
