Job Description

Vernon Health is seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist/technologist to join our Laboratory Services team. This position functions as a Generalist, demonstrating full competency across laboratory departments and performing a broad scope of testing procedures for patients of all ages. At the heart of VMH Laboratory Services is a dedicated team of caring, skilled professionals committed to excellence and high-quality patient care. We offer a collaborative work environment where staff support one another, share expertise, and engage in problem-solving to continuously improve laboratory services. Position Responsibilities Perform and report a variety of laboratory analyses from multiple specimen sources. Function independently as a Generalist across laboratory departments. Maintain accuracy, quality, and timeliness of test results. Assist with laboratory quality improvement projects. Participate in operational support activities to maintain and optimize testing capabilities. Adhere to all laboratory policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Education & Certifications Education:
Doctoral, Master's, or bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution; or have earned an associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
Certification:
ASCP certification preferred; CPR certification required
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant laboratory experience strongly preferred
Skills:
Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently NEW graduates encouraged to apply
Hours, Wage & Benefits Hours:
7 days on / 7 days off
Primarily:
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday :
8:00 PM - 7:00
AM Saturday and Sunday :
6:00 PM - 6:30 AM Rotating holidays required
