A Clinical Nurse Educator educates people about health issues and promotes healthy behaviors. Plans and directs health education programs at schools, colleges, private businesses, or nonprofits such as community health organizations. May work in a health care facility to educate patients about their conditions and treatment, or work for a public health organization to plan and organize public health campaigns. May also teach nursing at the postsecondary level.
Working collaboratively with the nursing administrative team, the Clinical Education Nurse will ensure that all individual nursing department staff educational needs are met on a consistent basis as is dictated by the specific needs of the residents and nursing departments in both Rehab and The Meadows.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This summarizes the major essential duties and responsibilities regularly performed and normally assigned to this position. It may be necessary in this job to assist in the evacuation of residents during an emergency. Responsible for education programming for nursing departments in Rehab and The Meadows Manage nursing orientation process, starting prior to first day, general orientation and on-floor follow up, evaluation and communication. Establish mentor program that facilitates regularly scheduled meetings and contact with all new hires in nursing department for first 12 months of employment Responsible for direct in-servicing of nursing department for "as needed" topics as dictated by the changing needs of the patients and staff including outside consultants, vendors or educational opportunities. Work directly with the nursing leadership to ensure that all new staff are oriented to their positions properly and that the competency check lists are completed thoroughly before recommendations are made to have an employee come off of their probationary period Establish routine training program (at least one per month) for the nursing departments in both Rehab at The Meadows Tracking of CPR certifications for The Meadows and Rehab and provide instruction (CPR certified instructor) to maintain compliance Schedule IV classes for RN's through pharmacy Responsible for communication to nursing department about any educational needs Establish competency demonstration programs for nursing department to ensure that basic, required skills are able to be carried out on a regular basis.

EXPERIENCE
: Graduated from an accredited school of Nursing with successful completion of Registered Nurse criteria. At least 3 years of experience in similar area of concentration.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in, written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access, etc.) and have good basic computer skills and the ability to adapt to software designed for an electronic medical record. Able to teach computer skills to all levels of staff. Familiar with telephone equipment and other various office equipment.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current Pennsylvania RN license. CPR Certified instructor

Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities. Ability to work in a fast paced and quick changing environment.
