Clinical Nurse Educator, FT Days (56887) El Paso Childrens Hospital - El Paso, TX 79905 Apply Overview Level Experienced Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Education Level 4 Year Degree Travel Percentage None Category Nurse Apply Description Assesses plans, organizes, implements and evaluates orientation and educational programs for Nursing and Ancillary Employees. Fulfills responsibilities of an RN Nurse Planner for Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) through possession of authority, accountability, and responsibility for adherence to Texas Nurses Association (TNA) and American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Accreditation (ANCC-COA) criteria in individual educational activities. The functions of the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) are to provide nursing professional development and education services by assisting nurses in preparing for contemporary practice and supporting them in acquiring knowledge and skills to competently collect patient health data, analyze the data to determine diagnoses, identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient, develop a plan of care that outlines interventions to attain the expected outcomes, implement the interventions identified in the plan of care, and evaluate the patient's progress toward attainment of the outcomes in the pediatric care settings. The CNE will also be involved in the development and education services of the unlicensed assistive personnel and ancillary staff. The CNE will be expected to work along side of the bedside nurse as applicable. Nursing practices at El Paso Children's Hospital emphasize evidenced based decision-making.
Qualifications Work Experience:
Two years RN experience required.
License/Registration/Certification:
Current RN License to practice in the State of Texas.
Education and Training:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Masters degree preferred.
Skills:
Highly effective oral and written communication skills. Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills. Ability to make effective group presentations. Strong knowledge of adult education principles, practices and procedures. Has knowledge of professional nursing principles, practices, concepts, and procedures as applied to the care of the patient population served. Ability to utilize computer software applications to include word processing, spreadsheets and graphic presentations, preferred. Knowledge of a variety of educational options such as academic education, experiential learning, consultation, teaching others, professional reading, adult learning principles, research, and self-directed activities. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions. Share job details to
