Monday-Friday, daytime hours (flexible start/end, e.g. 8-4, 7:30-3:30, 8:30-4:30). No weekends.
SUMMARY A
health organization is seeking a Director of Quality (RN) to provide strategic leadership, oversight, and continuous improvement of nursing services and quality initiatives within its outpatient health center. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in compliance with HRSA, DPH, and other regulatory standards. The Director leads nursing practice, quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI), infection control, and clinical compliance efforts, while partnering with interdisciplinary leadership to optimize patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and population health. This is a newly created leadership role focused on strengthening clinical leadership and driving change across the nursing team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership and oversight of outpatient nursing services, including RNs, LPNs, and medical assistants Establish and maintain nursing practice standards consistent with regulatory and evidence-based guidelines Partner with executive and clinical leadership to align clinical operations with organizational goals Supervise and support nursing leadership and staff in daily operations, staffing, and performance management Lead quality improvement and performance management initiatives to ensure high standards of nursing care, patient safety, and regulatory compliance Oversee clinical quality metrics including UDS, HEDIS, and other reporting requirements Ensure compliance with HRSA, DPH, and other applicable regulatory standards Conduct clinical audits and medical record reviews to ensure documentation accuracy and compliance Assist with the review, updating, and organization of policies and procedures Monitor patient outcomes, safety indicators, and KPIs, and implement improvement strategies Design, implement, and oversee infection prevention and control programs Provide staff education related to infection control and quality improvement initiatives Collaborate with leadership to optimize clinical workflows, patient access, and care delivery Establish and monitor staffing models and productivity standards Participate in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies for nursing staff Provide supervision, coaching, and performance management to nursing leadership and staff Develop and implement training programs, competencies, and professional development plans Develop, review, and update clinical policies and procedures Ensure consistent application of organizational policies and procedures Support grant initiatives, program development, and expansion of health center services Serve as a member of leadership and quality committees Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including providers, behavioral health, and operations Act as a liaison between clinical staff and executive leadership Timely completion of all required trainings, certifications, and licensing requirements Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) Current MA RN license Outpatient/ambulatory nursing experience (does not have to be most recent, but should be familiar with the setting) Leadership experience Quality improvement / quality management experience Experience in a management, supervisory, or director-level role Regulatory knowledge for Joint Commission, HRSA, DPH
