Job Description

MJHS is seeking a Director of Quality Management, Hospice & Palliative Care to lead quality, patient safety, and performance improvement across our hospice and palliative programs. This role designs and oversees quality initiatives, regulatory readiness, and outcome measurement, ensuring compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, and state requirements. The Director partners with clinical and operational leaders to analyze data, reduce risk, improve patient and family experience, and drive best practices. This position also mentors staff, leads audits and root cause analyses, and champions a culture of continuous improvement aligned with our mission-driven care. Responsibilities Lead quality and performance improvement for hospice and palliative care programs Ensure compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, and NY state regulations Design, implement, and evaluate quality and patient safety initiatives Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting of quality metrics and outcomes Conduct audits, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to improve patient and family experience Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and best practices related to quality Educate and mentor staff on quality, regulatory standards, and patient safety Prepare for and lead external surveys and accreditation activities Promote a culture of continuous improvement aligned with MJHS mission and values Required Skills Healthcare quality management Regulatory compliance (CMS, Joint Commission) Hospice and palliative care regulations Performance improvement methodologies (PDSA, Lean, Six Sigma) Data analysis and quality metrics reporting Risk management and root cause analysis Policy and procedure development Team leadership and staff education Clinical operations collaboration Project management
