Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire AlliedUP is partnering with a Community Health Center in Oakland to hire a Community Health Advocate / Community Outreach Liaison to support Alameda County's Black Infant Health (BIH) Program . This contract-to-hire opportunity focuses on community outreach, participant engagement, and care coordination while also supporting BIH programming through Child Watch services during group sessions (approximately 6 hours per week). What You'll Do Recruit and engage Black birthing and parenting individuals into the BIH Program Conduct community outreach through events, partnerships, referrals, and community engagement activities Build trusting relationships and provide culturally affirming support throughout pregnancy and early parenting Connect participants with healthcare, social services, and community resources Support care coordination as part of an integrated healthcare team Enter and maintain accurate participant information and program data (ETO; Epic a plus) Participate in BIH trainings, outreach events, and community meetings During hosted group sessions and events provide Child Watch Suppor t by providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for infants and young children while parents or caregivers participate in BIH group sessions and appointments Supervise children using age-appropriate activities that promote safety and positive engagement Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Child Watch space Follow all program safety procedures and child supervision guidelines Communicate with caregivers and BIH staff to support a positive participant experience What We're Looking For Required Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Health, Nursing, Education, Human Services, or a related field 1-3 years of experience in community-based, public health, or outreach settings ???Early Childhood Education or Child Development (grade "C" or better), or Four (4) months of ROP Child Development training preferred Experience working with infants, young children, or families Experience working with diverse communities and a strong understanding of African American culture and community health Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office; Epic experience a plus) Willingness to complete Community Health Worker (CHW) and Certified Enrollment Counselor (CEC) training Preferred Experience in childcare, early childhood education, family support, or community programs Doula certification or maternal and child health experience Additional Requirements Ability to travel throughout Alameda County Valid California driver's license if driving is required for assigned duties Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for outreach and community events CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire) Why AlliedUP?
