This role is essential in bridging the gap between locally available resources and the members of the east Fort Lauderdale community, ensuring that families in need receive the support they need to strengthen their protective factors, increase well-being, and foster a sense of resiliency. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a background in community outreach, mental health advocacy, navigation of services, and experience working with diverse populations, including children and individuals with disabilities. Position Responsibilities Assists in breaking down access barriers to service provision and stigma around receiving mental health services. Participate in community outreach to promote the program and mental health advocacy. Administer required assessments to assist identify client needs. Navigate appropriate resources that are locally available to assist address client needs. Offer informal counseling to assist youth and families with working through difficulties which include engaging in conversations for change, active and supportive listening Provide education that strive to increase emotional regulation and stress management, as well as foster positive health and well-being. Equip program participants with skills to increase resiliency, promote emotional well-being, reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression through educational efforts Position Qualifications Applicants must reside within the communities we serve which are Fort Lauderdale, Lauderhill, Lauderdale Lakes, or Oakland Park(required). A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED (required). Valid driver's license (required). Bilingual, fluent in Haitian Creole or Spanish (preferred). Additional Requirements Strong knowledge and experience in documentation of client progress, interactions, and observations. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations and build rapport with clients. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate records. Experience in the development of client service plans preferred. A compassionate approach towards helping others improve their desired outcomes. Considerations This is a full time position with variable hours depending on client need therefore this position is not compatible for most people with a second part-time job. Applicants must complete a 30-hour CMHW training upon hire, followed by an 500-hour practicum (paid by agency).
