PrEP Full Job Description The Opportunity:

Whittier Street Health Center is seeking a per diem, temporary PrEP Community Mobilizer for an approximately 6-month term (10-20 hours/week) to join our Infectious Disease and Special Populations (IDSP) team. In this role, you will build trust and relationships with communities disproportionately impacted by HIV (including Latino, African American, immigrant, and LGBTQ+ communities) through peer engagement, culturally responsive education, and community outreach, while supporting our mission to advance health equity and provide high-quality, patient-centered care to Boston's diverse communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct community outreach and education to increase awareness of PrEP, PEP, HIV testing, and other HIV prevention services Serve as a trusted community liaison, engaging communities who face barriers to accessing HIV prevention care Represent Whittier Street Health Center at community events, health fairs, and partner organization activities Provide culturally responsive, one-on-one and small-group education on PrEP eligibility, access, and effectiveness Address stigma, misconceptions, and barriers that keep community members from considering or accessing PrEP Facilitate warm handoffs of interested individuals to the PrEP Patient Navigator for enrollment and clinical support Build and maintain relationships with community-based, faith-based, and social service organizations Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, educational encounters, and referrals generated

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required Experience in community outreach, peer engagement, community health, or HIV prevention preferred Community Health Worker (CHW) training/certification, or comparable peer/outreach experience, preferred but not required Strong communication and customer service skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and interdisciplinary teams Join Our Team! Pay:

$15.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 20.0 per week
