Performs an array of duties aligned with the Clubhouse International Standards for Clubhouse Programs to support consistent engagement of the membership throughout the work- ordered day.

Position Duties:

1. Participates with members in planning and implementing all aspects of the Clubhouse Model working side by side to engage members in work-ordered day activities including social and recreational activities in accordance with Clubhouse International standards. 2. Transportation of members for the purpose of assisting the member in employment, community recreational activities, community resources or services, outreach and daily work ordered day attendance and operations in alignment with Clubhouse International Standards. 3. Assists clubhouse members in developing and securing transitional employment (TE), supported independent or enclave placement positions including evaluating, coaching, fading and coverage supports in alignment for Clubhouse International Standards. 4. Effectively case note and document services relative to member's progress utilizing written and electronic case noting formats. 5. Performs community-based outreach activities to meet member and program needs. Promote Clubhouse philosophy, and assist members to publicize program for member reach out. 6. Participates with members in Clubhouse programs providing opportunities for wellness and social recreational activities. 7. Engages cooperatively with members and other staff in developing Clubhouse policies and in advancing the purposes and welfare of the Clubhouse as a whole. 8. Assists members in obtaining utilizing community services and resources, as needed. 9. Obtains and maintain certification in CPR and First Aid. 10. Keeps abreast of professional developments and trends pertinent to clubhouse model standards. EDUCATION

High School Diploma required, Associates Degree Preferred

EXPERIENCE

Experience working with adults with serious mental illness

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES

Basic knowledge of the Clubhouse Model. Knowledge of recipient rights. Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups within a Clubhouse setting. Ability to carry out responsibilities in a communal setting where staff shares responsibilities with members; enabling members to lead in encouraging and empowering each other. Strong writing and verbal communication skills. Possess de-escalation skills and active listening ability. Ability to build positive relationships with members and empower members to manage their own behavior. Ability to multi-task and thrive in challenging situations. Ability to effectively and constructively address inappropriate behaviors. Optimize resources and opportunities through community agencies coordination and linkages to enhancing member's social support networks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Walking, stooping, standing, sitting, bending, reaching and lifting up to 20 lbs.

MENTAL DEMANDS

Required to remain objective and to respond appropriately while working with members and employees. Must be able to complete and prioritize multiple assignments. Effective decision making and problem solving skills, ability to meet individual performance appraisal goals and timelines, conceptual thinking and analytical skills required. Must have the ability to motivate others and possess positive attitude and patience. Must convey a vibrant energy that enables both members and staff to work well together.

MACHINES/EQUIPMENT

Must be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and Microsoft Outlook. Ability to operate calculator, copier, fax, printer telephone, and other general office machines. Ability to use and operate basic kitchen appliances and equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Engage members, staff and community contacts in various working environments including office and community-based settings. OTHER Must possess valid driver's license, proof of insurance and driving record acceptable to organization's insurance carrier. Must be able to obtain Chauffeur's license within 90 days of employment to transport members in agency vehicles. Ability to work flexible schedules with evenings/weekends/holidays. May require staff member to work a split shift. Annual criminal background check may be required of employees serving mental health trainees within behavioral health services programs Commitment to the belief in the possibility of recovery for people with serious mental illness.
