$1,000.00 per month Job description: Job Overview Flexible Schedule and Saturday 9am-3pm Join our dedicated team as a Part-Time Community Health Worker, where you will play a vital role in promoting health and wellness within diverse communities. This energetic position offers the opportunity to empower individuals by providing education, support, and resources that enhance their overall well-being. As a Community Health Worker, you will serve as a trusted liaison, helping community members navigate healthcare systems, access services, and adopt healthier lifestyles. Your enthusiasm and proactive approach will make a meaningful difference in people's lives while gaining valuable experience in public health and social services. Responsibilities Engage with community members to assess their health needs and provide culturally sensitive education on topics such as nutrition, addiction counseling, and preventive care. Assist individuals with disabilities by offering tailored support and facilitating access to necessary resources and services. Conduct outreach activities including public speaking engagements and community workshops to raise awareness about health programs and services. Collect, organize, and maintain accurate data related to client interactions, service delivery, and health outcomes to support program evaluation. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behavioral changes and foster trust with clients. Collaborate with healthcare providers, social workers, and community organizations to coordinate care plans and ensure comprehensive support. Maintain a working knowledge of medical terminology, Medicare policies, and public health guidelines to effectively communicate complex information. Experience Prior experience or training in nursing, social work, public health, or related fields is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or those facing social challenges. Strong skills in teaching, public speaking, and motivational interviewing to engage diverse audiences. Familiarity with data collection methods and documentation practices relevant to healthcare or social services environments. Knowledge of nutrition principles and addiction counseling techniques is a plus. Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate attitude are essential for success in this role. Previous experience working within community-based programs or outreach initiatives will be advantageous.
