! Are you passionate about making a positive impact in your community? The Harm Reduction Center (HRC) is seeking compassionate individuals to join our team. HRC provides health education, disease prevention resources, and harm reduction services both at our office and through mobile outreach across Snohomish County. Responsibilities:

Identifying and providing outreach services to areas within Snohomish County, such as sanctioned and unsanctioned encampments, shelters, and residential areas where the target population is known to congregate or frequent. Assemble and distribute harm reductions supplies. Collect and dispose of used syringes, supplies, and sharps containers through appropriate biohazard protocols. Provide Naloxone/overdose kits and training. Collect and document data on distribution and reversed overdoses. Provide harm reduction information and education Assist clients in building a support system, address and/or bridge gaps in services by making appropriate referrals and assisting clients, when possible, in following through with recommendations. Document client encounters and outreach activities for statistical and program support needs. Attend meetings and trainings as directed by the Program Manager and/or Executive Director Miscellaneous other program duties as assigned by the Program Manager and/or Executive Director.

Client Knowledge & Program Understanding:

Experience working with the populations served and an understanding of harm reduction principles and program goals.

Ethics & Confidentiality:

Maintain professional boundaries, uphold ethical standards, and protect client confidentiality at all times.

Culturally Responsive Communication:

Ability to communicate respectfully, compassionately, and without judgment with diverse populations, including individuals who may be experiencing substance use, mental health challenges, or agitation.

Health & Harm Reduction Knowledge:

Understanding of HIV/AIDS, STDs, hepatitis, blood-borne infections, safer use practices, street outreach, and community-based harm reduction resources.

Resource Navigation:

Ability to collaborate with peer navigators and connect clients to local services, healthcare, housing, treatment, and community resources.

Technology Skills:

Familiar with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel.

Professional Communication:

Strong verbal and written communication skills when interacting with supervisors, coworkers, healthcare providers, community partners, and the public.

Independent & Team-Based Work:

Ability to work independently while following established protocols and policies, as well as collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Reliability & Time Management:

Demonstrates dependability by completing assignments accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner.

Environmental Adaptability:

Comfortable working in outdoor and field-based settings, including various terrains, sanctioned and unsanctioned encampments, and changing weather conditions throughout the year.

Challenging Conditions:

Outreach staff often work in various weather conditions and harsh environments, embracing the unpredictable nature of our mission.

Physical Stamina:

Able to lift 30-pound boxes repeatedly overhead.

Community Engagement:

Outreach staff frequently visit areas where the homeless and our target population gather, ensuring we meet people where they are.

Safety First:

Staff strictly adhere to established policies and protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of the entire team.

Position Requirements:

Peer Certification Required:

Individuals with lived experience in mental health or substance use recovery, enabling them to provide professional peer support services.

Educational Background:

Must possess a high school diploma or GED.

Relevant Experience:

Preferably two years experience working in health, social services, or a related field, specifically working with individuals who use drugs in a harm reduction and/or community health setting.

Flexible Availability:

Must be available to work flexible hours between 8 am and 7 pm, Monday through Saturday. • Adhere to HIPAA compliance, non-discrimination policies, and engage discreetly with high-risk communities and their families
• Have a valid driver's license and be able to travel within the service area daily and pass a driver's abstract
• Provide proof of current car insurance
• Pass criminal background and drug screening. We are a safety sensitive agency and also test for THC.
• Proof of Covid vaccination or approved exemption
• Obtain and maintain current CPR, Infant CPR, and First Aid Certification
